Bakti Clinic Labuan Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) continues its Asnaf Day program for the third consecutive year to help the asnaf who need help, thereby reducing the burden of family members. Bakti Clinic Managing Director, Dr Ramli Tahir said this year, a total of 100 asnaf members comprising 85 poor and 15 new converts received a cash donation of RM200 each.
“The program with the collaboration of Labuan Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) and Labuan Zakat Center (PPZ) is the third year program that is being implemented as our company’s efforts help ease the burden of the needy,” he said.
He added that the Bakti Clinic also donated two mosques, three surau (small mosque), three Tahfiz (Islamic school) Centers and a Tahfiz Welfare Association.
Two mosques who received donations were Bebuloh Darat Mosque and Al Muttaqin Mosque, while three surau (small mosque) were Surau Nur Hidayah, Surau Mubarakah and Surau Ar Rayan.
“Every mosque and surau receive a cash donation of RM1,000,” he said.
Meanwhile, the three Tahfiz who received RM1,000 were Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Al-Badr, Madrasah Tahfiz Al-Quran Sri Marinding and Al-Quran Al-Quran Guidance Center and Labuan and Sabah Tahfiz Welfare Association.
Dr Ramli said the contribution was also one of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) of the Bakti Clinic and also one of the obligations of zakat contribution to the eligible group.
