In this year Eid-ul Adha, let’s join qurban program organized by Religious Council of Federal Territory (MAIWP) Malaysia. All Muslims are invited to participate in this program.
Qurban is an Arabic word which may be translated as ‘a sacrifice’. As a religious practice, it was started by Prophet Abraham by the commandment of Allah (God). Qurban can also be spelt as ‘Korban’.
In short, the practice of Qurban in Islam is to celebrated in commemoration of Prophet Abraham’s renowned act of obedience to the commandment of God to sacrifice his own son but which was later replaced by a ram. Qurban is performed during the Hajj season in the first three days of the Eidul Adha (Festival of Sacrifice) and the animals allowed for Qurban are goat, sheep, cow, buffalo or camel.
In a hadith narrated by at-Tirmidzi, Ibnu Majah and Hakim, the Prophet said :
“There is no action by the sons of Adam on Eidul Adha that is more pleasing to Allah then by the outpouring of blood ( the slaughter of the sacrificial animal). Verily the sacrificial animal will come on the day of judgement with its horn, hooves and skin and Allah will grant the blessings of the Qurban even before the blood of the animal reaches the ground. Therefore, make good your Qurban.”
In this program, one part (share) of cattle cost RM650.00 (approx. USD160) while a cow is RM4,550.00 (approx. USD1118).
The program will be held on 22 August 2018 at the Darul Kifayah Complex, Kuala Lumpur. More information, please PM or Whatsapp: http://www.wasap.my/+601140819561
